Michele’s love of shells began as a child. She spent summers on the beaches in Maryland and New Jersey passionately combing the shoreline for shells. While in college, Michele learned about the jewelry industry by working at a high end jewelry store in her hometown of Laurel, MD, but she pursued a career in television for 20 years. In March 2024 after being laid off from her job as a television producer, Michele made an impromptu trip to Florida. When visiting the beaches on the Atlantic Coast, the idea for mi shell jewelry was born.
